How can we improve Indaba Music?

Voting, Plays and the Social Butterfly

Hey! If you get the most votes! You win $1000, or a years membership!
Sounds great if you know 1000 people or have access to some sort of bot or scamming site!
But for the real artist, that wants true feedback and does have the luxury of a million friends to vote for you, this puts us at a sad disadvantage.

I recommend requiring persons to hear the WHOLE track before voting or giving a Listen count.

I additionally think that we need a ranking system. Once we have established that all votes and listens must be counted after the song has been fully listened to, you can implement a ranking system.

Say rank 1-1000, 1 being the highest and 1000 being the lowest.
And you are ranked by how active you are in the community. For example, a person who gives REAL feedback, can be given a Point by the person he/she gave feedback to, and this will go towards their score.

This will encourage persons to LISTEN to the tracks of their peers and BUILD each other up. It will also bring a sense of global competition. Everyone will want to compete for that top spot! So being an avid listener and a great commenter will really help a person in this way!

This is not how our programs are run. Major prizing is never decided by the popular vote totals. In addition, you must at least press play to vote. Forcing people to listen to the whole track is simply unrealistic.
